This event would not be possible without the thought partnership, and expertise of our fellow Philanthropy Support Organization (PSO) partners: Climate and Energy Funders Group (CEFG), Funders for Regenerative Agriculture (FORA), and the Health and Environmental Funders Network (HEFN). This gathering would not be possible without support from SAFSF member, McKnight Foundation.
The SAFSF team is especially grateful to a handful of funder members and funder colleagues for their support in shaping each session of Building an Intersectional Philanthropic Approach: Climate Change, Agriculture, and Healthy Rural Communities.

CLIMATE ENERGY AND FUNDERS GROUP (CEFG), a program of the Biodiversity Funders Group, is building a justice-centered clean energy movement that supports the expansion and adoption of 100% renewable energy for 100% of the population. Their mission is to create a vibrant and effective funding community committed to addressing the profound issue of climate change – a central topic of this funder convening – and building a just, global clean energy economy. Megan Waterman, Program Officer CEFG, has lended expertise in planning this convening.
FUNDERS FOR REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE (FORA), was a natural partner to shape a conversation on climate change, agriculture, and healthy rural communities. FORA is a five-year initiative creating affiliations with multiple funder networks (including SAFSF!) to inform, educate, organize, provide collaborative opportunities, and recruit new members in support of regenerative agricultural systems. With a goal to dramatically increase adoption of regenerative agriculture in five years, FORA organizes and implements programs that accelerate the emergence of regenerative agriculture, healthy soil, and working lands systems that support people and planet. We are grateful to the partnership and expertise of Jennifer O’Connor and Kevin Irby (Kirby) in planning this convening.
HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL FUNDERS NETWORK (HEFN), works to mobilize philanthropy around solutions for environmental health and justice. HEFN is the “go-to” place for grantmakers interested in environmental health and justice issues, whether they are exploring the field or deeply engaged. HEFN has partnered with SAFSF on a multitude of programs to bridge the environmental health, justice, and food communities. In collaboration with Kalila Booker-Cassano, formerly on the SAFSF Board of Directors, this convening has been developed.
